Craft Beer Sales Representative - Multiple Locations

SALES RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Pitch and sell product portfolio to new On and Off Premise clients within your sales region.

  2. Visit existing accounts throughout your territory to build and maintain relationships with buyers / decision-makers.

  3. Host On and Off premise product samplings and events in order to engage consumers.

  4. Work closely with sales manager and retailer personnel to ensure that commitments (retail level orders for product) are delivered.

  5. Educate consumers, retailers and distributors on brands that are represented within your territory. Track Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and territory sales growth.

  6. Stocking and rotating shelves, display building and POS material management are key aspects of daily merchandising in customer accounts to deliver results for stores and suppliers.

  7. Build strong rapport with key account relationships and obtain feedback on merchandising activities. Share feedback with appropriate sales team members.

  8. Learn and grow beer, wine, and / or spirit knowledge for brands and our customers.

  9. Work to maximize sales within our distribution territory and achieve or exceed specific quarterly sales goals

  10. Work independently and in coordination with the leadership to develop new sales accounts and maintain/grow current accounts

  11. Communicate regularly with customers in person, by phone and via email/text Maintain up-to-date database of customers, contact info, and meetings

  12. Proactively program and oversee beer-related events with on- and off-premise accounts to promote sales and deepen relationships

  13. Deliver sales & market feedback to leadership team by remaining current on sales data, pricing, industry trends and other activities Assist with delivery of beer to self-distribution accounts, as needed

  14. Enthusiastically represent our portfolio at festivals, tastings and other general promotional events

  15. Deliver outstanding customer service and perform sales activities in compliance with all alcoholic beverage regulations, at all times

  16. Other miscellaneous sale duties, as needed

MERCHANDISING RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Maintaining fresh product at retail by rotating, reorganizing and refilling shelves and coolers

  2. Inventory and reorganize back stocks, refill cold boxes, shelves, displays and dust product as needed

  3. Build displays that meets supplier and company guidelines; assist with resets when needed

  4. Communicate with and take direction from account personnel, management, sales representatives and delivery personnel on a regular basis

  5. Work with sales manager and chain division to execute and merchandise all monthly chain programs

  6. Maintain and update in store point of sale materials

  7. Attend product and business training sessions and sales meetings as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Self-starter with the proven ability to work independently and adapt in a fast-paced growing environment.

  2. Minimum of 3 years experience working in the three-tier distribution system either with a beer wholesaler or craft beer producer

  3. Strong knowledge of the local market for craft beer and high level of craft beer product knowledge

  4. Excellent oral and written communication; strong analytical and group presentation skills

  5. Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Google Drive

    1. Experience with Ekos ERP Management software is a plus

  6. Availability to work a flexible weekly schedule, including nights and weekends.

  7. Must be able to spend multiple hours per day in a car driving

  8. Must have a reliable car, valid driver’s license, pass pre-employment background check, including a clean motor vehicle record.

  9. Must be able to lift up to 40 lb regularly

  10. Must live in the Chicago/Madison/Kenosha/Milwaukee market

  11. Must be 21 years of age

Job Type: Full-Time, Salaried Position, Overtime Exempt

Salary: Industry Standards, with a combination of base pay and commission pay (no cap on commission).

Craft Beer Delivery Drivers (Non-CDL) - Multiple Locations

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Warehouse Manager and prepare deliveries based on week’s priorities

  • Responsible for making deliveries to our customers in Wisconsin/Illinois

  • Other duties include the breakdown and restocking of beer deliveries in our retail accounts

  • Picking up products from our Wisconsin and Illinois suppliers

  • Perform delivery routes in Company Vehicle in a reliable and timely manner

  • Collect payment as noted by team members

  • Safely operate a Box Truck / Cargo Van

  • Ability to load and unload cases and kegs of beer up to 150+ lbs with reasonable accommodation

  • Physically unload and deliver product to our customers

  • Ensure proper stock rotation of our products and place products on shelves, racks, displays, and in coolers

  • Complete weekly log of vehicle and delivery needs

  • Provide excellent customer service

  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Check in on accounts as needed and thoughtfully engage with customers when necessary

  • Follow routes and time schedule

  • Load, unload, prepare, inspect and operate a delivery vehicle

  • Ask for feedback on provided services and resolve clients’ complaints

  • Collect payments

  • Inform customers about new products and services

  • Complete logs and reports

  • Follow DOT regulations and safety standards

  • Help with warehouse operations and staging orders

  • Maintain inventory of kegs and pick up empty shells as needed

  • Organize product inventory and support packaging days as needed

  • Build and maintain relationships with all retailer accounts for Brew City Distribution and its partner breweries to increase packaged sales and brand awareness in the market

  • Communicate openly and respectfully with all team members and act as a steward of the Brew City Distribution and representative of our suite of breweries

  • Support logistics and represent Brew City Distribution and our brands at festivals, tastings, and events

  • Willingness to help out in other business areas related to a lean startup

  • Build and maintain productive relationships with brewery partners outside of organization and sales initiatives

  • Maintain sustainable business practices and respect all members of staff

  • Walking and climbing stairs

  • Sustained squatting, kneeling, and/or bending while handling products

 

Skills

  • Proven working experience as a Delivery Driver

  • Valid professional driver’s license

  • Ability to operate forklifts and box trucks and cargo vans in a variety of weather and traffic conditions

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Good driving record with no traffic violations

  • High school degree
